Poole Harbour Boat Show announced the Winner of Special Award for New Event!
The organisers of the Poole Harbour Boat Show were delighted to receive the Special Award for a New Event at this year's Dorset Tourism Awards.
The awards ceremony took place at the Bovington Tank Museum on 15th October, with an audience of 215 made up of teams from the various local events and attractions that were nominated for an award. By the end of the night, 51 trophies had been presented to different tourism businesses from across Dorset. The competition for the Tourism Event of the Year category was strong with the four finalists named as the Tankfest at Bovington, Sherborne Abbey Festival, Pommery Dorset Seafood Festival, and the Poole Harbour Boat Show.
Pommery Dorset Seafood Festival won Gold, with the Poole Harbour Boat Show being recognised for its success in its first year and being awarded with the Special Award for a New Event.
Now in its third year, the Awards act as a celebration of the best in Dorset tourism and also as a county heat for the South West and national Visit England awards.
The Poole Harbour Boat Show 2016 will take place from Friday 20th - Sunday 22nd May, with the Friday being a Press Day. Exact details are yet to be confirmed, however organisers are busy taking bookings from exhibitors with both quayside and marina spaces filling up fast.
